How To Dress For A Job Interview

You’ve probably heard the saying that “you never get a second chance to make a first impression” and nowhere is this more true than in a job interview which is why learning how to dress for a job interview is critical if you want to have the best chance possible of landing a job.

The very first thing you must focus on is neatness. You general appearance, though out of place with reality, impacts significantly on the overall outcome of your interview. Make sure that all your clothes are ironed and clean the day before an interview as interviewers will definitely have their eyes set on that. First impressions last longest, so do not ruin your chances by neglecting this aspect of neatness.

Having removed that from the picture you must focus on the type of job you are being interviewed for when you figure out how to dress for a job interview. Generally the job you are being interviewed for must determine how you dress. What I mean to say is that you cannot go to an interview for a position as a car mechanic dressed in a suit and tie. Another example would be going for an office job interview dressed like a mechanic; dressing has to be as relevant as possible.

Make sure you are in your most comfortable outfit. The comfort that a certain outfit gives you determines a lot of things. For starters it determines the level of confidence with which you enter the interview room. It also determines your level of comfort, as well as your general facial appearance.

Apart from the tips listed above on how to dress for a job interview, you must also be sure to keep your hair well combed and Apart from the tips listed above on how to dress for a job interview, you must also be sure to keep your hair well combed and smart. And when you decide to have a spray on do not overdo it as it can distract the interviewer negatively.

I once froze when asked, in an interview for a garaudte traineeship at Grant Thornton, to name a time I had been wrong about something. A bit of an unfair question I thought. The interviewer clearly didn’t account for the possibility that someone might never have been wrong about anything in their entire life. I didn’t get the job and I’m certain it was down to flubbing that one question.

This person raelly just talks about common sense. For those struggling to actually trying to get an interview, it is actually easy. All you must do is try and seperate yourself from the field. This can be done through networking or utilising many sources on the internet. Just as a starting point anyway.Apparently over 60% of jobs/employees are found through sites like LinkedIn
